Earlier this week, the Hyderabad based tech giant Celkon teased that it will be launching its flagship smartphone called Millennia Epic Q550 today at an event in New Delhi. As claimed, the handset was unveiled with decent specifications for a pricing of Rs 10,499.
Elaborating on the technical specifications front, the Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 arrives with a spacious 5.5 inch display with a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels translating to a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch that is average. This panel makes use of the IPS display technology that provides decent viewing angles and OGS technology that will make the screen more responsive and slimmer.
In terms of raw hardware, the Celkon flagship smartphone is powered by a quad core ARM Cortex A7 processor that ticks at 1.3 GHz clock speed. This processor is aided by 1 GB of RAM and Mali 400 graphics engine that will take charge of the multi-tasking and graphic handling capabilities respectively.
Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, the Millennia Epic Q550 flaunts standard imaging aspects including an 8 MP primary snapper at its back accompanied by LED flash to render quality low light photos and videos. Furthermore, there is a 2 MP front facing snapper bestowed to the front of the smartphone to handle the video conferencing and selfies departments.
To keep the users seamlessly connected to the internet, the Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 arrives packed with 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. Also, there is dual SIM functionality and USB OTG to enable easier file transfer between two devices even without a host. A juicy 3,500 mAh battery energizes the smartphone and though the backup rendered by this battery is not disclosed by the vendor, it is believed to pump in long hours of life to the device.
Interestingly, the Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 boasts of a unibody design despite its astounding price tag of Rs 10,499. Also, Celkon has announced that it plans to launch its first ever Windows 8.1 based smartphone in December within the sub Rs 10,000 price tag.
