Last year, South Korean manufacturer LG managed to impress everybody with their G4 flagship, one of the few Android devices that was able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S6 from all points of view. Considering this, the stacks were raised and the expectations from 2016 were even bigger. And they did it again!
The recently introduced LG G5 is another amazing smartphone, packing an impressive spec sheet and a lot of amazing features. Still, like always, such a big amount of high-end technology doesn’t come for cheap and not everybody can afford a new, SIM-free phone.
Still, carriers are always happy to help, offering the phone for a lower price, but with a two-year contract. One of the biggest disadvantages of this move is that for two years, you will be stuck with just one carrier and won’t be able to switch whenever you want. But this happens if you don’t unlock your LG G5, of course.
Even though there are a few methods you can use in order to do it, like asking your carrier to unlock your LG or rooting, the easiest way is by code. It takes just a few minutes and you don’t need any technical knowledge, meaning that anybody can do it, from the comfort of their homes.
We bet you want to know more details about how it’s done, so let’s break down the whole process in three steps, shall we?
Find an unlock code provider online
Place your order
No matter which service you choose, in order to receive your LG G5 unlock code, you need to provide the following details:
- The name of the network and country you originally got your phone from
- Your phone’s IMEI, which can be found by dialing *#06#
- A valid email address, where you will receive the code
Receive the code and unlock your phone
Shortly after, you will receive an email with the LG G5 unlock code and additional instructions on how to unlock it.
Insert a SIM card from an unsupported network, other than the one your phone is currently using, and wait until a message like “SIM network unlock PIN is displayed”, alongside a field where you should put the code.
Use your keyboard, insert the code and press “Unlock”. That’s it! Your LG G5 is now unlocked and ready to be used in any network around the world.
If you got stucked between the lines, you can also watch the video tutorials about how to unlock your phone on Youtube.
In order to fully enjoy your phone, make sure you check the APN settings. Since you’re now using a new network, you need its settings, in order to use the data connection.
