HTC is highly rumored to launch the successor of the yesteryear flagship smartphone – One M8 allegedly dubbed HTC Hima aka One M9. Now, there is some light on when the device would be unveiled by the Taiwan based tech titan. The purported invites sent by HTC to the tech media inviting for the CES 2015 press conference to be held on January 5 have been leaked and it is likely that the flagship device will be launched then.
As per a tweet by Steve Hemmerstoffer from Nowherelse.fr website on Monday reading “#HTC #M9 #Hime #CES2015” and the image of a smartphone partially splashed with numerous colors, it is likely that the Hima will arrive in numerous color options and be unveiled at the CES 2015 tech show.
Contradictorily, HTC usually launches its flagship smartphones at the MWC tech later in the year and not at the CES. Hence, it is less probable that the Hima could be launched at the upcoming event. Also, the tweet does not reveal any other information regarding the device that could be launched at the event.
The rumored HTC Hima is tipped to arrive with a 5 inch Full HD display carrying 1080×1920 pixel resolution. It is also claimed to be equipped with a 64 bit Snapdragon 810 processor with quad core 2 GHz processor and quad core 1.5 GHz processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. It might arrive with a 20.7 MP rear camera and a 13 MP or a 4 MP UltraPixel front camera and use a 2,840 mAh battery. The HTC Hima would be preinstalled with Android 5.0 Lollipop topped with Sense 7.0 UI.
HTC is likely to be planning the release of its Sense 7 UI customization for Android 5.0 Lollipop devices sometime in March or April 2015. It is also claimed that the other HTC devices launched in 2014 would receive the update between May and July 2015.
