It is only a week since the Taiwanese tech tycoon launched the Desire 820 smartphone at the IFA 2014 with a 64 bit processor. So soon, the vendor has sent press invites to the tech media world for an event that is slated to be held on October 8 in New York

HTC has not clearly revealed what it will be showcasing at the event, but the words ‘Double Exposure’ and the focus on the camera on the smartphone pictured in the invite clearly tip that the firm will be unveiling something related to the camera at the event.

We can expect the camera centric event to feature an update to the HTC One M8’s Duo camera technology or a new product with importance to photography as well. According to the image as shown by GSMArena, two women seem to take a selfie shot using a device that looks very much like the HTC’s flagship One M8 smartphone.

HTC is well known to accentuate the camera performance and features on its devices in the recent years. Ditching the megapixels concept, the vendor came up with the HTC One in 2013 with its custom image sensor that is marketed as UltraPixels. This was even more upgraded with the Duo Camera concept in its successor launched earlier this year. This camera setup helps in focusing the object twice that facilitates in adjusting the focus even after clicking the snap.

HTC had unleashed the Desire 820 at its pre-IFA 2014 event in Berlin with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and 4G LTE Cat-4 connectivity. The handset carries the credit for being the first ever Android smartphone to equip a 64 bit processor under its hood. HTC had announced that smartphone will be available worldwide from late-September.

The dual SIM HTC Desire 820 is fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system topped with HTC Sense UI. The smartphone is the successor to HTC Desire 816 and it boasts of a 5.5 inch HD display carrying a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The Desire 820 packs a 13 MP primary snapper at its back with f/2.2 lens to capture more light, LED flash and BSI sensor for enhanced low light performance. There is an 8 MP selfie camera at the front as well.
