Lava Iris 500 Gets Listed on the Official Website for Rs 5,499

Lava is definitely on a launch spree as the vendor is coming up with numerous smartphones priced attractively. The latest offering from the manufacturer is the Iris 500 that is listed on the official website of Lava for a pricing of Rs 5,499. The firm is yet to announce the availability details of the smartphone officially.

Going by the listing, Lava Iris 500 is a dual SIM smartphone running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It boasts of a 5inch FWVGA IPS display that packs a screen resolution of 480×854 pixels. It is claimed to incorporate a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor of unspecified chipset that is backed by 512 MB of RAM. There is 4 GB of inbuilt storage capacity that can be further extended externally up to 32 GB by means of a micro SD card.

The Iris 500 boasts of a 5 MP primary camera at its back supplemented with LED flash for enhanced low light performance and a VGA front facing selfie camera for video conferencing. The primary snapper comes with features such as HDR, burst mode, panorama, scene detection and face recognition.

Connectivity wise, Lava Iris 500 is bundled with options such as Wi-Fi, micro USB, and Bluetooth 4.0. For now, there is no mention if the smartphone will support EDGE and 3G connectivity options for connectivity on the go. There is a 1,800 mAh battery under the hood of the Lava offering, but the backup render by the same remains unknown.

According to the latest reports, Lava has a market share of 8 percent in the overall mobile phone segment in India. The vendor is claimed to be the leader in terms of feature phone manufacturing and the second largest India based vendor.

Lately, Lava announced the launch of the Iris Fuel 50 smartphone in its new Iris Fuel lineup and this device came with a pricing of Rs 7,799. The highlight of the handset is its 3,000 battery that is capable of delivering 13 hours of talk time and 360 hours of standby time. The firm also announced that it will be launching more smartphones in the lineup in future, though a time frame was not revealed.
