Lenovo Vibe X2 with Octa Core SoC to Launch in India on November 6

Lenovo appears to be all set to launch its very first octa-core smarpthone, Lenovo Vibe X2 in India this week. After being in the headlines for completing the acquisition of Motorola Mobility, the China based tech maker has sent out media invites confirming the Vibe X2’s launch on Thursday, November 6.

The Vibe X2 was announced officially alongside the firm’s flagship model Vibe Z2 at the IFA 2014 tech show. It is priced at $399 that translates to Rs 24,000 approximately, but the Indian price pricing is yet to be announced. Moreover, there is no clear information on when the Vibe Z2 will be launched in India.

To refresh on its specifications, the Vibe X2 flaunts a 5 inch FHD IPS display that boasts a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The smartphone employs an octa-core MediaTek MT6595m True8Core processor ticking at 2 GHz clock speed supplemented with 2 GB of RAM. There is an ample internal storage capacity of 32 GB in the device that cannot be extended further as there is no micro SD card.

Imaging hardware of the Vibe X2 comprises of a 13 MP primary camera at its rear with auto focus, LED flash and FHD video recording support. This rear camera is supplemented with a front facing selfie shooter of 5 MP to handle the video conferencing department.

Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system topped with Lenovo’s VIBE UI 2.0 skin, the smartphone gets its power froma 2,300 mAh battery that is rated to pump in up to 19 hours of talk time and up to 216 hours of standby time on 3G networks.

Specs apart, the Lenovo offering features a unique multi layered design that comes with additional layers of different colors. These layers are claimed to add more functionality and that they can be snapped-on to the back. One layer is responsible for increasing the battery life of the smartphone greatly up to 75 percent, whereas another layer provides hi-fi JBL audio and the other hand offers a kickstand that lets users to prop up the Vibe X2 on a table.
