Motorola’s Android Wear based smartwatch with a radial dial dubbed Moto 360 that went official earlier this month alongside the new Moto G and new Moto X smartphones is the most sought after wearable in the market. There is a possibility for the device to retain this potential until the IFA announced offerings hit the retail shelves. However, it appears like Motorola is determined to keep this charm for its smart wearable device even later.
The US based manufacturer has posted the image below on its official website and it shows the Moto 360 smartwatch in three different color options including – Black, Silver and Gold. As of now, the wearable retails only in Black and Silver respectively tipping that it could be an accidental posting by the Motorola design team or a move to stir the excitement surrounding an upcoming announcement of the Gold variant. But, the happenings in the tech world after citing this image strongly stress on the latter.
Noticing the promo image, those folks at Android Police have reached Motorola and the firm has replaced this image with another snap that does not show the Gold variant. This action of Motorola has created more speculations about the alleged upcoming variant of the Moto 360.
Apart from replacing the image, a Motorola representative has commented that “Although we can’t comment on gold specifically, we’re always exploring new materials and we intend to provide Moto 360 in a selection of styles in the future.”
As Motorola has not been specific about the Gold variant of its smart wearable, it could be taken that the firm could be prepping a variant that either features a solid gold build or a gold coating.
The Moto 360 smartwatch boasts of a 1.5 inch display with a 320×320 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective coating. The device uses a TI OMAP 3 SoC with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of native storage capacity. There is a 320 mAh battery that should be capable of lasting for a day and IP67 certificate for water resistance.
