Panasonic, the Japanese company has launched a new smartphone from it’s range of affordable lineups targeting the already crowded budget mid-range segment priced at $254 (unlocked) which is around INR 15000. The handset is named ELUGA U2 with some impressive features to woo the audience. The company’s first 64bit smartphone runs on Android Lollipop out of the box.
Continuing with the current trend of smartphones ELUGA U2 comes with 5 inch IPS display with 720×1280 pixels which is not too big and will be sufficient for movie viewing, videos and gaming needs.
The smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera along with 5MP front-facing camera for nice shooting and selfie experience. Right now not much is known about picture quality but when it comes out it will be clear if it delivers a 13MP quality shot or not. So far so good.
With 2GB Ram and 16GB internal memory this phone has nothing new as is the norm with new crop of smartphones in recent times. But with 2GB of Ram this one is going to deliver stunning performance without lags and hiccups as we have seen with other 2GB Ram phones out there.
This phone offers LTE connectivity for high speed data connection and voice calling features, coupled with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor which is a bit old but considering a mid-range smartphone it is not a big deal and there will be no problems in multitasking.
ELUGA U2 is powered by a 2500mAh battery which will sufficiently last a day without charge at moderate use. Had it been a 3000 mAh battery it would be deal-breaker for this phone. The dimensions of this phone are 141.5 x 71 x 7.95 mm weighing around 131 grams.
Currently, Panasonic has launched this phone in Taiwan. As of now there are no pricing and availability details.
