Xiaomi, in an event to mark the completion of its 5 years in industry opened the bag of surprises and launched two smartphones one being Redmi 2A and other Mi Note Pink variant for its women fans. This is not all Xiaomi also slashed the prices of its two smartphones which are the wildly popular Mi4 and Mi4 Lite.
Mi4 was the company’s flagship smartphone for the year 2014 and garnered huge respect from android and Xiaomi fans around the world for its commendable and best in class specifications. The 16 GB variant of Mi4 was previously available with a price tag of CNY 1999 which is Rs 20,000 approximately. Now the smartphone will sell for a reduced price of CNY 1799 which comes close to Rs 18,000. Another variant of the popular smartphone with 2 GB RAM also underwent a price cut and is now available at a reduced price of CNY 1699 i.e. Rs 17,000 approximately against the original price of CNY 1799 which is Rs 18,000 approximately. The new pricing policy will be implemented starting April 8.
As far as the 64 GB variant of Mi4 is concerned there is no word whether it will undergo a price cut or not in China. Mi4 was released by Xiaomi last year as the flagship smartphone and made it way to India only recently. The 16 GB variant in India is priced at Rs 19,999 and the 64 GB variant is priced at 23,999. There is no word whether these slashed prices will be implemented in other countries including India as well or not. There is cloud of confusion as on now and only time will tell whether it is a gift to Chinese fans onlyor other Xiaomi fans will get a taste of it.
