Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to Go on Sale in India for Rs 21,499

The world’s leading smartphone manufacturer Samsung is all set to be geared up to launch the second generation phablet in the Galaxy Mega lineup in India. While there is no official announcement from the vendor regarding the launch of the Galaxy Mega 2, the entrusted retailer Mahesh Telecom disclosed the details regarding the device’s launch in a Facebook post.

According to the Mumbai based retailer, the Galaxy Mega 2 will be arriving in stock in the coming days for a price tag of Rs 21,499, while its MRP will be Rs 24,300. Also, the post claims that the Galaxy Mega 2 will carry the model number SM-G750H in India.

Until now, Samsung had not launched the Galaxy Mega 2 globally, but the phablet went on sale in Malaysia for MYR 1,299 (approx. Rs 24,700) and was listed official in Thailand without any details pertaining to its pricing and availability.

To refresh on its technical specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is given an enormous 6 inch TFT HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Powering the device is a quad-core processor of unspecified chipset ticking at 1.2 GHz clock speed that is supplemented with 1.5 GB of RAM as in the original Galaxy Mega models such as the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 respectively.

Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, the Galaxy Mega 2 is bundled with ample 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be further extended externally by another 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The photography capabilities of the handset include an 8 MP primary snapper with LED flash for a better low light performance. At the front, the Galaxy Mega 2 comes with a 2.1 MP selfie shooter that should be capable of making video calls and clicking self portrait shots.

The Galaxy Mega 2 comes with connectivity features such as LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS with GLONASS, NFC and Bluetooth, but the retailer has confirmed that the LTE option is not available in India. A 2,800 mAh battery energizes the phablet and it is expected to provide a decent backup to it.
