Looks like Xiaomi is hell bent on capturing subsequent share of Indian mobile industry. Just a day ago it unveiled Redmi 2 the successor of 2014’s Redmi 1S. For recap the Redmi 2 is LTE enabled smartphone which features a 4.7 inch HD display along with DragonTrail Glass protection. Offered at an affordable price of Rs.6999 it packs in Qualcomm SnapDragon 410 CPU coupled with 1 GB ram and 8 GB buitl-in storage.
Now reports has emerged that Xiaomi is planning to launch the upgraded limited edition of Redmi 2 in India. With upgraded limited edition we mean 2 GB ram and 16 GB rom model. Though Xiaomi has made it clear that the upgraded version’s other specification will remain same as that of the existing model. Well with 2 GB ram and 16 GB rom it will be more than what Xiaomi fans have expected if the price also remains same. There is no word on the pricing details of the limited edition Redmi 2. Earlier reports also surfaced that Xiaomi is planning to set up a production unit in India as well as around 100 experience stores all over the country. Well looks like Xiaomi is gearing up to beat the competition right away. Xiaomi’s smartphones have always sold like hot cakes in past. The flash sales lasted mere 2-3 seconds with stock always running out. With a production unit set in India, Xiaomi can boost their sales. What is going to happen only time will tell.
