Xiaomi has a tough time in India as the Delhi High Court banned the firm from importing and selling devices in India, but it was partially lifted and the company was allows to sell MediaTek powered devices in the country. Within days after the ban was removed, the Chinese vendor announced that it will be letting the Redmi Note 4G on sale via its exclusive online partner Flipkart from December 30.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Redmi Note 4G is similar to the Redmi Note 3G variant except for a few differences. Unlike the 3G variant, the Redmi Note 4G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor ticking at 1.6 GHz clock speed paired with Adreno 305 graphic unit and 2 GB of RAM to handle the graphic handling and multitasking capabilities. Connectivity options include single SIM instead of the dual SIM support on the 3G variant and 4G with support for both FDD-LTE at 1800 MHz and TDD-LTE at 2300 MHz respectively.
The rest of the specifications are identical to the Redmi Note including a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. The imaging aspects of the device include a 13 MP rear camera paired with LED flash and other impressive aspects and a 5 MP front facing selfie camera as well. There is 8 GB of default storage space that can be expanded externally using a micro SD card. On the software front, the Redmi Note 4G runs on Android KitKat with MIUI 5. The entire system is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery to keep the handset juiced up.
The Redmi Note 4G carries the highlight of being the first device from Xiaomi that will be available in the offline stores as well. Xiaomi has entered into a partnership with Airtel to sell these smartphones through the latter’s flagship stores in six cities across the country. However, interested consumers will have to pre-register on Airtel website first to buy the Redmi Note 4G and the registrations are also open on Flipkart for the sale next week.
